  Magazines are a prominent and distinctive tool of print media and the cover is considered the basic identity of the magazine and the source of expressing the content and attracting readers, so the magazine cover has always attracted the attention of the editorial board and designers.

  In this study, the researchers, relying on the descriptive analytical approach, tried to focus on the cover page design methods of (Gulan) magazine, a weekly magazine published in the Kurdistan Region for about (31) years. This study aims to identify the methods and approaches followed by the magazine in designing the cover in the magazine's issues between the years (2008-2020) as specific border of the research.

  After a detailed analysis of the cover of Golan magazine during the selected time limit of the magazine's publication years، the researchers concluded that in general، the design of the typography elements of the cover of Gulan magazine made it appear more like a "thematic and newsworthy style." The design of the magazine's name has remained the same in terms of font and size، but it has been replaced in terms of color and background, between white and red. In addition, the main cover photo was taken up in the magazine cover and the designer treated color in the overall cover design.
