This study examines the extent of the impact of Turkish TV drama on the values and cultures of viewers in the Kurdistan Region and measures the extent of the impact of these series on changes in social and prevailing concepts. The researcher used the descriptive and survey method to select different samples of viewers in the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, as a model, the researcher sent the electronic questionnaire forms to a number of the participants (about 150 people) as a random sample of university professors, students, employees, teachers, and general social segments of the respondents, (91) searched participated in the questionnaire.
The researcher concluded from the study a several results, including: that watching drama still takes the largest percentage of viewers' interests, Turkish drama is one of the most watched proportions compared to other dramatic materials, the viewers are still encouraging the influence of positive and negative values that come with these series, the viewers prefer social drama and expressive realistic stories, and that they also prefer relatively short series. At the end of the study, the researcher made recommendations, including: Calling for the formation of specialized bodies and committees in local television stations to select Turkish series or other series according to principles and foundations appropriate to the Kurdistan society.
