This research is entitled (Level of social responsibility of journalists in presenting media messages in Kurdish television channels). This study is of descriptive research type which is appropriate to the research methodology. In order to obtain accurate data and information, the researcher relied on survey method. The sample of this study is 200 journalists from Kurdish television channels, who were selected in a non-random manner. The main objective of this study is to find out the reasons why journalists do not adhere to social responsibility and to reveal their level of social responsibility in presenting media messages. The significance of this study is that it seeks to highlight the importance and consequences of social responsibility for journalists and broadcasters.


This study has reached several conclusions including:


Observance of social responsibility by journalists is relative, that is, some journalists observe the principle of social responsibility when directing media messages to the audience, At the same time, some of them have a weak level of responsibility, ie they do not properly observe this principle. In Kurdish society, due to the lack of awareness of some individuals and their desire to magnify the problems and deepen the negative aspects of issues, They have encouraged some journalists to neglect social responsibility.
