Abstract

 The main purpose of this research is to determine the level of youth reliance on TikTok platform for news and information, as well as the type of news that young people are looking for and intend. The importance of the research stems from the content of its title, which is not very rarely scientific research in Kurdish has not been conducted on this subject, which motivated the researcher to make it a subject for research.

 It is considered as one of the descriptive types of research, which tried to achieve the objectives, based on the form “Survey”, for some of the youth of Sulaymaniyah, which consists of 400 young people, both male and female, randomly targeted aged (14-34 years).

 This study has finally reached a number of conclusions, the most important of which are:

 Young people rely on TikTok to get news and information relatively well. The reasons why young people rely on TikTok are faster and more effective than other media channels. Young people pay attention to all kinds of global, regional and local news, but more are local, especially social news.
