Abstract

This research refers to the theory of verbal process titled: The Process of Pledging in the Electoral Campaign Project: 2018 Election as a model. This research investigates specifically refers to the summary of pledges by the head of lists in the Kurdistan Parliament election and it is distinguished from other oral with speeches. The research is in the pragmatic level according to the theory (actual, practical analysis), which is located in the middle of the depth of the speech process, contains a summary of the last text of the heads of the electoral lists for 2018.  Reading the verbal (speech) theory founded by linguist: (Austin) and developed by: (Cyril) who is also a linguist. Nowadays, this theory is connected to the contemporary world, which has become one of the main topics in the practical linguistic, this depends several plans that gives ability to the speaker to perform the speech with a direct and effective impact in the role he has. In addition, this theory determines the boundaries between the speaker and the listener and the theory classifies linguistic work into five types. This research, apart from introduction and conclusion, consists two chapters. The first chapter is a theoretical chapter that indicates an interpretation between language and politics, and explains the relationship of language to politics. Then, it refers to the theory of verbal process and discusses the date of its emergence and types. Austin believes that each speech has its own verb. There are five verbs of speech: media, description and expression of emotions, issues, and related verbal processes. Also, Cyril categorized the speech in this order: acting, command, link, expression and media. The second chapter is a practical chapter explains the undertaking process of pledging, which is related to this speech that can be implemented. Fulfilling pledge is important and necessary process to maintain the social relationship between members of the society1. In conclusion, the research results, the list of sources and research abstract in Kurdish Language is presented.
