This descriptive study investigates the utilization of social media platforms by lecturers at Erbil Polytechnic University , Erbil Technical Management college, utilize social media platforms to improve  their academic proficiency.  with the objective of assessing its contribution to their professional development. Employing a survey methodology via Google Forms, the research examines a sample of 80 Lectures , stratified across the departments of Media Technique, Accounting, International Marketing and Language, and Business Administration. The study population comprises all faculty within the aforementioned college. The findings indicate that the majority of respondents actively engage with social media platforms to acquire new knowledge and foster innovation within their respective disciplines.
